Refund policy
SEOBoss Blog Engine - Refund Policy
Effective date: 17 July 2026
SEOBoss Blog Engine is a digital subscription and usage-based service delivered through the Shopify App platform. This Refund Policy explains how we handle requests relating to SEOBoss subscription charges, eligible usage charges, and purchased credits.
This policy should be read together with the SEOBoss Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
1. Shopify billing
SEOBoss subscriptions and eligible App charges are processed through Shopify and appear in your Shopify billing information or invoice. Shopify controls the billing cycle, invoice timing, payment collection, currency conversion, taxes, and the application of approved refunds or credits.
SEOBoss does not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account details.
2. Subscription charges
SEOBoss subscription charges provide access to the features and allowances included in the selected plan for the applicable billing period. Subscription charges are not automatically refundable because:
- you changed your mind;
- you did not use some or all of the available features or allowances;
- you forgot to cancel before a new billing period began;
- you downgraded, paused, closed, transferred, or stopped using your Shopify store;
- you expected a different search ranking, indexing outcome, traffic level, sales result, conversion rate, AI citation, or other performance result; or
- a third-party search engine, AI system, social platform, or connected provider changed its algorithms, policies, data, or availability.
We may still approve a full or partial refund or Shopify App credit after reviewing the particular circumstances.
3. Usage charges and purchased credits
Used generation credits, image credits, and other usage-based services are normally non-refundable once the requested job has completed successfully or the applicable benefit has been delivered.
Unused allowances included with a subscription do not have cash value and are not refundable. Unless expressly stated otherwise when purchased, credits cannot be transferred between stores or exchanged for cash.
If a confirmed SEOBoss or provider error prevents an eligible job from completing, our normal remedy is to avoid charging the attempt, restore the applicable allowance, or re-credit the failed usage where the App's accounting rules permit. If that remedy is not available or is not reasonable in the circumstances, we will review an appropriate refund or Shopify App credit.
4. When we will review a refund request
We will review requests involving matters such as:
- a duplicate, unauthorised, or clearly incorrect SEOBoss charge;
- being charged for a different SEOBoss plan or amount from the one you authorised;
- a material technical failure that prevented you from accessing the paid Service and that we could not remedy within a reasonable time;
- credits or usage being deducted incorrectly because of a confirmed system error; or
- another circumstance where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.
Approval is not automatic and depends on the charge status, usage already received, available technical evidence, Shopify's billing capabilities, and any applicable legal rights.
5. Matters that are not normally refundable
Except where required by law or approved by us after review, refunds are not normally provided for:
- change-of-mind requests;
- unused time remaining in a billing period;
- unused included allowances;
- successfully completed AI, article, keyword, image, media, or publishing jobs;
- output that requires editing, fact-checking, or further merchant direction;
- mistakes in merchant-provided titles, prompts, instructions, URLs, products, settings, or publishing choices;
- content that was published through an Agent mode or cadence expressly enabled by the merchant;
- temporary disruption or failure caused solely by Shopify, Google, an AI provider, a search engine, the merchant's internet connection, or another third-party service outside our reasonable control; or
- failure to achieve a desired ranking, indexing, traffic, revenue, sales, backlink, conversion, AI-search, or social-media result.
AI-generated output can vary and may require merchant review or editing. Dissatisfaction with style or a particular generation does not by itself establish a billing error or service failure.
6. Trials and plan changes
If a paid subscription begins after a free trial or promotional allowance, it is your responsibility to cancel before the paid billing period begins if you do not wish to continue.
Plan upgrades, downgrades, prorated amounts, and Shopify App credits are handled according to the options and calculations presented through Shopify. A plan change does not automatically create a right to a cash refund for the previous plan.
7. Cancellation and uninstalling
You may manage or cancel your SEOBoss subscription through Shopify. Where required by Shopify, uninstalling the App is the step that stops future SEOBoss recurring billing.
Cancellation or uninstallation does not automatically:
- refund an existing subscription charge;
- remove a charge that Shopify has already generated or added to an upcoming invoice;
- reverse eligible usage charges already incurred; or
- convert remaining allowances or credits into cash.
Before cancelling, you can review current and upcoming App charges in your Shopify Admin billing settings.
8. How to request a review
Contact us as soon as reasonably possible after noticing the charge or problem. Providing the following information will help us investigate:
- your
.myshopify.comstore address; - the account email associated with the store;
- the invoice date, charge date, amount, and invoice number if available;
- the plan, credit purchase, or feature involved;
- a clear explanation of what happened and the remedy you are requesting; and
- relevant screenshots, job identifiers, error messages, or other supporting information.
Email your request to robbie@seoboss.com.
We may ask you to confirm that you are the store owner or an authorised staff member with suitable billing authority. Please do not email passwords, Shopify access tokens, Google access tokens, complete payment-card information, or other authentication secrets.
9. Refund or credit method
If a request is approved, the available remedy may be a refund, partial refund, restored allowance, replacement credit, or Shopify App credit, depending on the nature and status of the charge.
Approved financial refunds or credits are processed using Shopify's available App billing tools. Processing and appearance on an invoice or account may take additional time controlled by Shopify or the applicable payment provider.
10. Statutory rights
This policy does not limit any guarantee, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where applicable law requires a repair, replacement service, refund, cancellation right, or other remedy, we will provide the remedy required by that law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes to the Services, Shopify billing, our plans, or applicable legal requirements. We will update the effective date when changes are made. A material change will not remove any right that had already arisen under applicable law.
